Hyderabad Police Arrest Man for Using Fake Number Plate on Two-Wheeler

Hyderabad, April 17 (PMI) In Hyderabad, the Traffic Police have arrested a man for using a fake number plate on his two-wheeler in an attempt to evade law enforcement authorities.

The accused, identified as Mohd. Rafiuddin, a resident of Kurmaguda in Madannapet, had allegedly replaced his vehicle’s original registration number with a forged one.

According to police, the number was altered from TG11A1698 to TG11A1898 to mislead authorities and avoid detection. The offence came to light after a complaint was filed by Shaheen Begum, a resident of Padma Nagar in Old Malakpet, who is the rightful owner of the vehicle bearing registration number TG11A1898.

She reported that her vehicle number was being misused, leading to multiple traffic challans being wrongly issued in her name due to violations committed by the accused.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act at Chaderghat Police Station. The accused was arrested on April 16, and further investigation is currently underway.

The case was solved through the joint efforts of the Hyderabad Traffic Police and Chaderghat Police. Authorities have warned that tampering with or using fake number plates is a serious offence and will attract strict legal action. They also highlighted the use of advanced technologies such as CCTV surveillance and ANPR cameras to detect such violations. (pressmediaofindia.com)
