Hyderabad, Oct.31 (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday said India’s unity and cultural diversity were its greatest strengths, stressing that initiatives such as ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ promote national integration and mutual understanding.
Addressing the Foundation Day celebrations of Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh here at Lok Bhavan, he recalled Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution to integrating princely States into the Indian Union.
Highlighting the natural and spiritual heritage of the two Union Territories, the Governor appreciated the resilience of their people and the contribution of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth to national defence. He also noted the growing educational links between Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir, with several students pursuing higher education in Hyderabad. He urged people to develop a sense of belonging to both their native States and the places where they work.
