Agartala, November 5 (PMI): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted extensive search and seizure operations at 13 locations across Tripura, West Bengal and Maharashtra as part of an ongoing money-laundering investigation into an alleged fake government tender racket involving a suspended Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
According to an official statement issued by the central investigative agency on Thursday, the searches were carried out on Wednesday by officials of the ED’s Agartala Sub-Zonal Office. The operations covered multiple locations across the three states in connection with an alleged conspiracy involving the suspended Tripura-cadre bureaucrat and his associates.
The investigation is linked to a First Information Report (FIR) registered at the Capital Complex Police Station in West Tripura district. The FIR was lodged following a complaint filed by Nagpur-based M/s SK Sales Corporation against the suspended IAS officer and his alleged co-conspirators.
The ED is investigating suspected financial irregularities and possible money laundering associated with the alleged fraudulent government tender activities.
The agency’s search and seizure operations form part of its efforts to trace the financial transactions and establish the alleged involvement of individuals connected with the racket.
