WASHINGTON, October 29 (PMI): Former US President Barack Obama has urged American voters to seize what he described as their “last best chance” to rein in President Donald Trump and the Republican Party, reviving his long-standing message of hope and change.
Addressing a rally in Atlanta on Wednesday evening, Obama said he was already sensing a shift in the political atmosphere, declaring that “change is in the air” and that people were “so hungry for something new”.
“These are not serious people. And we’re all paying the price for their lack of seriousness,” Obama told thousands of Democratic supporters gathered at the Discovery Centre.
The former president’s remarks drew loud cheers from the audience during his 45-minute speech, as he criticised Trump and the Republican Party and called on voters to embrace change.
Obama’s appeal echoed the message of hope and change that became central to his political identity nearly two decades ago. His latest remarks sought to mobilise Democratic supporters and encourage voters to use the opportunity to challenge the current Republican leadership. (pressmediaofindia.com)
