Hyderabad, May 9 (PMI) In a proud moment for the Telangana Police Department, Challa Yamini, daughter of serving Head Constable Challa Yadgiri, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 119 in the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination 2025.
The results, announced on May 8, have brought recognition not only to Yamini’s family but also to the Telangana Police, as she is among 84 successful candidates nationwide who received mentorship and interview guidance from senior IPS officer Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat.
Yamini’s father is currently posted at the Telangana Police station in Suryapet Rural. Coming from a police family with rural roots, Yamini’s achievement has become a source of inspiration for several aspirants and police families across the state.
84 Out of 148 Candidates Mentored
This year, out of the 148 candidates selected for the prestigious Indian Forest Service across the country, 84 aspirants were mentored under the guidance initiative led by Bhagwat. The initiative has earned national recognition for consistently producing top-performing candidates in the UPSC personality test and interview stages.
The mentorship programme has also achieved a remarkable milestone by producing the IFoS All India Rank 1 topper for three consecutive years — 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Candidates from Across India Benefit
Apart from Telangana candidates, the initiative has guided aspirants from several states. Among the notable achievers is Pawar Akshay Haribhau from Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district, who secured AIR 81.
The consistent success of candidates under the programme highlights the disciplined preparation strategy and focused interview mentoring offered by senior officers and academicians associated with the initiative.

Expressing happiness over the results, Bhagwat credited the success to a dedicated team of senior officers, academicians, and volunteers who mentored the aspirants throughout the process.
He stated that success in civil services should always remain connected to the values of public service, humility, and discipline. He also encouraged candidates who could not clear the examination this year to stay positive, reassess their preparation strategy, and continue striving for success.
