Mailardevpally Police arrested three persons on September 6 in connection with the alleged murder of rowdy-sheeter Mohd. Qaji Sohail, with police stating that the killing was linked to previous enmity and disputes over ganja sales.
Hyderabad, September 6 (Shoukat-PMI): Mailardevpally Police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Mohd. Qaji Sohail, a rowdy-sheeter of Mailardevpally Police Station, who was allegedly killed on September 2, 2026.
According to police, the case was registered on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s father, Mohd. Khaja Miya, 52, son of Abdul Rasheed.
During the investigation, police apprehended Syed Arshad alias Althamash Chaku alias Bada Mujrim, along with his alleged associates Mohammed Abdul Raheem and Mohammed Ishaq. During questioning, the accused allegedly disclosed that they had previous enmity with the deceased and disputes linked to the alleged sale of ganja.
DCP Sri. S. Sreenivas, IPS, said the accused allegedly conspired to eliminate Sohail. On the night of September 1, Abdul Raheem and Ishaq allegedly took Sohail on a two-wheeler towards Palle Cheruvu. They allegedly attacked him with knives near Abdul Kareem Traders, resulting in his death.
Following the incident, the accused allegedly attempted to destroy evidence by burning the clothes worn during the offence and the knives used in the alleged murder at a garbage dump near the Vinayak Nagar Toddy Shop.
Based on the information allegedly provided by the accused, police recovered two knives without handles, another knife, and mobile phones from the indicated location.
Police said Syed Arshad has 13 previous cases registered against him, while Mohammed Abdul Raheem has two previous cases.
The investigation was conducted by Mailardevpally Police under the supervision of the DCP, Rajendranagar Zone, and ACP Chandrayangutta. The three accused were arrested on September 6 at around 3 p.m.
