Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 341 drunk-driving cases during a two-day special drive on September 4 and 5, reiterating zero tolerance against drunk driving and warning that such enforcement drives will continue.
Hyderabad, September 6 (Shoukat-PMI): Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 341 cases of drunk driving during a two-day special enforcement drive conducted on September 4 and 5, 2026, as part of efforts to improve road safety and prevent accidents.
Of the total offenders, 282 were two-wheeler riders, 27 were three-wheeler drivers, and 32 were driving four-wheelers and other vehicles.
According to the Traffic Police, 69 cases recorded blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels between 30 and 50 mg/100 ml, while 148 cases fell in the 51–100 range. Another 66 cases recorded BAC levels between 101 and 150.
Further, 23 cases were recorded in the 151–200 range, 15 cases between 201 and 250, 11 cases between 251 and 300, while 9 motorists recorded BAC levels above 300.
Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated that there would be zero tolerance towards drunk-driving violations and stated that similar special enforcement drives would continue.
