Ramagundam, Sept 9 (Shoukat-PMI) The 112th birth anniversary of renowned poet Kaloji Narayana Rao was observed with solemnity at the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate office.
On the occasion, Ramagundam Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha IPS garlanded the portrait of Kaloji Narayana Rao and paid floral tributes to the legendary poet.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha praised Kaloji as a great people’s poet who brought social issues closer to the public through his writings in the Telangana dialect and language, inspiring social awareness among the people.
The Commissioner said Kaloji was not merely a poet but also a powerful voice of ordinary people who highlighted their problems through his writings. By portraying the lives and concerns of common people in their own language, Kaloji created awareness and encouraged society to question social injustice, inequality, exploitation and authoritarianism.
He said works such as “Na Godava” became symbols of Kaloji’s commitment to public awareness and social consciousness.
Commissioner Jha noted that, recognising Kaloji’s contributions to public service, literature and social awareness, the Government honoured him with the Padma Vibhushan.
He said that the true tribute to Kaloji would be to draw inspiration from his ideals by patiently listening to people’s problems, ensuring justice for victims, supporting weaker sections and performing duties with honesty and commitment.
“The pen of Kaloji, which questioned issues in the interest of the people, should remain an inspiration for us. Likewise, our uniform, through which we work for public safety, should become a symbol of public trust,” the Commissioner said.
He urged police personnel to provide policing that is more accessible to the public, responsible and guided by a humane approach.
