Warangal, September 20 (PMI): In view of the Vinayaka immersion and Shobha Yatra scheduled in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet on September 23, the Warangal Police Commissionerate has announced traffic restrictions across the Tri-City limits.
According to N. Swetha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Warangal, the restrictions will come into force from 10 am on September 23 and remain in effect until 5 pm on September 25. The measures have been introduced to ensure smooth movement of processions and prevent traffic congestion during the large-scale immersion programme.
Restrictions on Heavy Vehicles
Heavy vehicles will not be permitted to enter the city during the immersion period and will be diverted through the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and other designated routes.
Vehicles from Mulugu and Bhupalapally towards Hyderabad will be diverted via the ORR near Aarepalli. Heavy vehicles travelling from Bhupalapally/Parakala towards Khammam will use the Aarepalli ORR and proceed through Karunapuram, Venkatapuram, Ainavolu and Punnelu Cross Road.
Vehicles travelling towards Narsampet from the Bhupalapally-Parakala side will be diverted through Kothapeta, Reddypalem, Janparalu and Gorrekunta.
Heavy vehicles from Karimnagar towards Khammam will use the ORR at Chintagattu, take a U-turn and proceed towards Khammam via Karunapuram, Venkatapuram, Ainavolu and Punnelu Cross Road. Vehicles travelling from Khammam towards Karimnagar and Hyderabad will follow the corresponding designated diversion routes.
Heavy vehicles travelling between Hyderabad and Narsampet will be diverted through the ORR and Atmakur, Katakshapur and Mallampalli.
Diversions for Buses and Light Vehicles
Special routes have also been prescribed for buses and other vehicles within Warangal city.
Buses arriving from Mulugu and Parakala will reach the bus stand through KUC, C.V.P. Ambedkar Centre, Asian Sridevi Mall and Peddammagadda. Buses departing from Hanamkonda towards Mulugu and Karimnagar will follow the reverse route.
Buses from Hanamkonda towards Narsampet, Kothagudem, Bhadrachalam, Torrur and Khammam will be diverted through Balasamudram, Adalat and Hunter Road.
Cars and other light vehicles travelling between Kazipet and Warangal will be diverted through Fatima Junction, Vaddepalli Church, KUC Junction, Peddammagadda, Mulugu Road, MGM, Gemini, Potana Junction, Under Bridge, Head Post Office, Warangal Bus Stand and Venkatram Circle. The reverse route will be followed for vehicles travelling from Warangal towards Kazipet.
Vinayaka Immersion Routes
Police have also specified routes for Vinayaka idol vehicles. Vehicles after immersion at Siddheswara Gundam will proceed towards Sayampet.
Idol vehicles arriving from the Sayampet side will use Hunter Road, Adalat and Hanamkonda Crossroads. Idols from Excise Colony, Revenue Colony and Vaddepalli areas will be immersed at Bandham Lake.
Vehicles completing immersion at Chinna Vaddepalli Lake will proceed towards Narsampet Road through Enumamula.
The police have appealed to the public, organisers and vehicle owners to cooperate with traffic personnel. Citizens have also been requested not to park vehicles along the Shobha Yatra routes or near immersion points, so that the procession and emergency movement can continue without obstruction.
