Nationwide Outrage Over Pahalgam Terror Attack: CAIT Calls For ‘Trade Bandh’ In Delhi, Candlelight Marches Held Across India

New Delhi, April 25: In response to the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on Friday called for a ‘trade bandh’ in the national capital, with markets across Delhi shutting down in solidarity.

The bandh, led by BJP MP and CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal, included a protest march where traders raised anti-Pakistan slogans, strongly condemning Pakistan for its alleged role in supporting cross-border terrorism.

Nationwide protests echoed similar sentiments. In Bhubaneswar, the BJP Yuva Morcha held a demonstration, where Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms.

Students at the Government Degree College for Women in Anantnag also took to the streets to express their outrage. In Chandigarh, demonstrators gathered holding placards and demanding justice.

Ayodhya saw a candlelight march honoring the victims, while Delhi’s Khan Market Trade Association paid tribute by lighting candles. In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh BJP leaders and workers, including state party president VD Sharma, joined a similar march to mourn the deceased and express national unity.

The Pahalgam terror attack, which targeted tourists at the scenic Baisaran meadow, is being regarded as one of the deadliest since the 2019 Pulwama attack and among the gravest since the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
