Hyderabad C P V. C. Sajjanar IPS Reviews Arrangements for Bibi Ka Alam Procession Ahead of Muharram

CP V.C. Sajjanar Flags Off Elephant Trial Run, 

Hyderabad June 20 (PMI) On the occasion of Muharram, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar visited the historic Bibi Ka Alawa at Dabirpura and Darushifa on Saturday. He offered ceremonial respects and participated in special prayers.

Later, along with MLC Mirza Riyaz-ul-Hasan Effendi,Najaf ali shoukat president Markazi Anjuman Matami Gurohaan he flagged off the trial walk of Sridevi, the elephant that is a major attraction of the Bibi Ka Alam procession. During the visit, he inspected the security arrangements on the ground along with senior police officials.

The Commissioner also interacted with the procession organizers and urged them to cooperate with the police to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the event.

Addressing the media, Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar  IPS stated that the Hyderabad City Police has taken comprehensive precautionary measures to maintain law and order during Muharram and prevent any untoward incidents. As part of these arrangements, nearly 2,000 police personnel will be deployed for the Bibi Ka Alam procession, and traffic restrictions will be enforced along the procession route.

He explained that the primary purpose of the elephant’s trial run was to assess its behavior in the presence of large crowds, evaluate the procession route, and identify any additional security measures that may be required.

Recalling the cooperation extended by Hyderabad citizens during previous major events, the Commissioner expressed confidence that the public would once again support the police in ensuring the peaceful and successful conduct of the procession.

He further stated that, reflecting Hyderabad’s renowned Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb (composite culture of communal harmony), the procession would be completed peacefully with the cooperation of citizens and organizers.
