Telangana contributes 5 per cent to national GDP: KTR

Hyderabad: June 10 ( PMI ) The share of Telangana’s economy in the national GDP has gone up by 26 basis points to touch 5 per cent in 2020-21 against 4.74 per cent in 2019-20. In 2020-21, the State recorded a per-capita income of Rs 2,27,145 compared to the national average of Rs 1,27,768, said Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

Releasing the annual reports of the Industries and IT departments, he said the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Telangana in 2020-21 was Rs 9.78 lakh crore. The growth rate fell by 1.26 per cent at constant prices (2011-12) due to the Covid pandemic. However, this is significantly better than India’s project GDP contraction at eight per cent, he said.
