His celebrated noha, “Ai Khalaf-e-Bu Turab, Quwwat-e-Bazuye Man”…

Hyderabad, 30 May (PMI)  Syed Najaf Ali Shoukat, President of the Markazi Anjuman Matami Gurohan, Hyderabad, Telangana State, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of renowned Azadar-e-Ahlul Bayt (AS), distinguished noha khwan, and founder and former president of Guroh Shidaye Abul Fazl, Syed Haqaiq Ali Khan Abidi, popularly known as Abbas Nawab.

He described the loss as a great and irreparable setback to the community of mourners of Imam Hussain (AS). In his condolence message, Shoukat said that the late Abbas Nawab had dedicated his entire life to the promotion of Azadari-e-Syed-us-Shuhada (AS), the service of mourning assemblies, and the preservation of Hussaini traditions. His passing has deprived the Azadari fraternity, particularly Guroh Shidaye Abul Fazl, of a sincere, selfless, and devoted servant of Imam Hussain (AS), whose absence will be felt for years to come.

He noted that Abbas Nawab was not only the founder and first president of Guroh Shidaye Abul Fazl but also enjoyed a unique and distinguished reputation in Persian noha recitation. His celebrated noha, “Ai Khalaf-e-Bu Turab, Quwwat-e-Bazuye Man,” remains deeply cherished among mourners and continues to resonate in their memories. Shoukat further stated that whenever the cause of Azadari, especially the mourning of Karbala and the preservation of Hussaini rituals, required commitment and sacrifice, Abbas Nawab stood steadfast in the front ranks. His dedication, sincerity, spirit of service, and profound love for Ahlul Bayt (AS) serve as an enduring example for future generations.

He also highlighted that the late Abbas Nawab served as Vice President of the Real Markazi Anjuman Matami Gurohan (Regd.), Govt. of Telangana from 2013 to 2020. During this period, he played a significant role in strengthening the organization, promoting matami activities, and fostering unity among mourners. Shoukat remarked that with the sighting of the crescent of Muharram and the commencement of mourning gatherings and processions, the absence of Abbas Nawab will be deeply felt.

His personality, contributions, noha recitation, and unwavering commitment to Azadari will remain alive in the hearts of devotees, and his memory will continue to inspire mourners in every majlis and matami gathering. Praying for the departed soul, Syed Najaf Ali Shoukat appealed to Almighty Allah to grant Abbas Nawab a lofty place in the proximity of the Masoomeen (AS), accept his lifelong services to Azadari, and bestow patience and strength upon his family members, relatives, associates, members of Guroh Shidaye Abul Fazl, and all those grieving his loss.
