Mumbai April 21 (PMI): A special camp was organised at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on 16th April’20 and 17th April’20 for covid-19 test of media persons and 171 swab samples of media persons were collected by BMC including reporters, electronic and print media journalists, cameraman and photographers.
Out of the 171 media persons at least 53 of them were tested positive for coronavirus. BMC decided to isolate and quarantine those 53 media persons at a hotel in Goregaon for next 14 days as most of thosemedia persons were asymptomatic and authorities are also tracing down their contacts with low and high risks.
Kishori Pednekar, Mumbai Mayor has decided to self-isolate and quarantine herself as some of the journalist with whom she had interacted in recent time were tested positive of covid-19 infection. (Press Media of India)
