Hyderabad, Jan.12 (PMI): Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has announced that the State government will not be introducing any new regulations concerning the issuance of ration cards, and the existing guidelines will continue to apply.

A review meeting regarding the selection of Indiramma housing beneficiaries and the process for issuing new ration cards took place on Sunday at the GHMC head office in Hyderabad, with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar in attendance.

In his comments to the media, he indicated that the distribution of new ration cards is set to commence on January 26, while the verification of beneficiaries will occur at the field level from January 16 to 20.

The Minister further stated that data entry for eligible beneficiaries will begin on January 21, and ration cards, along with Indiramma housing, will also be available for those who have relocated from other districts and are now living in Hyderabad.

Emphasizing the State government’s commitment to ensuring justice for all impoverished individuals, irrespective of political affiliations, Ponnam Prabhakar reiterated that programs would be executed for all eligible parties.

“Those who have land in Hyderabad, but do not have a house will be given first priority in the Indiramma housing scheme,” he disclosed.

The Minister further stated that the incomplete two-bedroom houses in Hyderabad district will be completed and the contractors will be spoken to on the matter, adding that the beneficiaries will be selected by holding a lottery for the completed houses. (PMI)
