Telangana BJP Welcomes Centre’s Delimitation Outreach, Calls It a Move Towards Consensus and Cooperative Federalism

Telangana BJP has welcomed the NDA government’s outreach to political parties on the proposed Delimitation Bill, calling it a significant step towards inclusive governance, democratic dialogue, and cooperative federalism.

Hyderabad, June 5(PMI): The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed the NDA government’s reported initiative to engage political parties on the proposed Delimitation Bill, describing the move as a positive step towards consensus-building, inclusive governance, and cooperative federalism.

Reacting to reports of the Centre reaching out to regional parties, including those that have expressed concerns over the delimitation exercise, BJP Chief Spokesperson N.V. Subash said the initiative reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s commitment to democratic consultation and broad-based participation in national decision-making.

Addressing the media, Subash emphasized that dialogue and consultation are fundamental pillars of a healthy democracy. He stated that the NDA government’s approach stands as an example of inclusive governance, where differing viewpoints are heard and considered before major policy decisions are taken.

“The NDA government’s outreach to regional parties, including those that have expressed reservations regarding the delimitation exercise, demonstrates its commitment to democratic engagement and consensus-building. The BJP firmly believes that meaningful dialogue strengthens democracy and leads to more effective and widely accepted policy outcomes,” he said.

The BJP leader expressed confidence that political parties across the country would participate constructively in the proposed consultations and contribute towards evolving a balanced and broadly acceptable framework for the Delimitation Bill.

He further noted that issues of national importance should be approached with a spirit of cooperation and responsibility, placing the larger interests of the country above partisan political considerations. According to him, deliberations involving all stakeholders would help ensure fair representation and further strengthen India’s democratic institutions.

The Telangana BJP maintained that the Centre’s outreach to political parties is aimed at fostering consensus before moving forward on the proposed legislation. The party described the initiative as a reflection of cooperative federalism, where the Union Government works closely with states and political stakeholders on matters with far-reaching implications.

The party also expressed optimism that continued dialogue and democratic engagement would help address concerns raised by various quarters and lead to a solution that enjoys broad support across the political spectrum.

According to reports, the NDA government has begun consultations with political parties regarding the proposed Delimitation Bill, and further discussions are expected in the coming weeks as efforts continue to build consensus on the issue. (pressmediaofindia.com)
