- ₹5,000 crore for irrigation land acquisition and R&R: Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said ₹5,000 crore has been prioritised for land acquisition and rehabilitation and resettlement works for irrigation projects. About ₹2,000 crore has been released, with ₹3,000 crore under process. Officials were directed to speed up pending clearances and restart stalled works, including the Mid Manair Left Canal and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Reservoir project.
- Farmers urged to avoid paddy cultivation: Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy asked Nalgonda farmers to avoid paddy because of severe water shortages in Nagarjuna Sagar. Farmers were encouraged to grow dry, horticultural and other water-saving crops. The district has already shifted around 33,000 acres from paddy, with a target of 1.5 lakh acres.
- Public participation sought for mosquito control: Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar urged Hyderabad residents to keep homes and surroundings clean and participate in the weekly “Friday-Dry Day” campaign. GHMC will conduct a special mosquito-control drive from August 11 to 21 to prevent diseases such as dengue.
- National seminar on technology-driven policing: A police seminar in Hyderabad discussed modern policing, cybercrime, traffic management and emerging threats. Speakers highlighted AI applications such as facial recognition, predictive analytics and smart traffic systems, while warning about criminal misuse of AI through deepfakes, voice cloning and automated phishing.
- KCR announces ₹2.25 crore assistance: BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao announced ₹2.25 crore financial assistance to the family of former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy. KCR is scheduled to visit the family in Nallabelli and meet party leaders and supporters.
- BJP focuses on SIR Phase-2: BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao asked party workers and Booth Level Agents to focus on the Special Comprehensive Revision of electoral rolls. He urged registration of eligible voters and vigilance over deletion, correction, objections and booth rationalisation procedures.
- Brahmin activists allege injustice: Telangana Brahmin Activists’ United Forum alleged that both previous and current governments had failed to adequately recognise genuine Brahmin activists. The forum demanded representation in nominated posts, clarity on proposed ₹25 crore funding and appointment of genuine Telangana movement activists to key positions.
- KTR invited to UAE Bathukamma celebrations: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao was invited to be chief guest at the ETCA-UAE Bathukamma celebrations in Dubai on October 11, 2026. KTR also discussed the welfare, employment and living conditions of Telangana workers in the Gulf.
- BJP condemns police action against unemployed youth: BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao criticised alleged police force against unemployed youth who gathered for HYDRAA recruitment. He accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil promises relating to jobs, unemployment allowance, a job calendar and youth financial assistance.
- Crowding at Saroor Nagar HYDRAA recruitment: A stampede-like situation occurred at Saroornagar Stadium after thousands of job seekers gathered for only 150 HYDRAA driver posts. Candidates complained about overcrowding, inadequate arrangements and lack of drinking water. Police intervened and brought the situation under control.
- CPI(M) defends welfare schemes: CPI(M) Telangana secretary John Wesley criticised remarks questioning government welfare schemes. He argued that rations, pensions, education, healthcare, housing and employment assistance are social responsibilities rather than “freebies,” and urged scrutiny of corporate concessions, subsidies and government land allocations as well.
- #StandWithHer panel stresses equality and consent: A Hyderabad panel discussion highlighted the importance of teaching children equality, respect, emotional expression and consent from an early age. Speakers stressed that parents should challenge gender stereotypes, explain rules rather than impose them, and teach boys to respect “no” as well as teaching girls to establish boundaries.
- KCR to visit Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s family: KCR is scheduled to visit Nallabelli to console the family of former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy. He is also expected to meet local BRS leaders, activists and supporters. The visit follows his announcement of ₹2.25 crore assistance to the bereaved family.
- Telangana targets future-ready workforce: IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Telangana is connecting education, industry and employment to develop future-ready skills. The state produces over two lakh professional graduates annually and is upgrading 65 ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres. Telangana is also targeting 100 Global Capability Centres this year.
- Strong response to Indiramma Houses Towers: Housing Board Vice Chairman V.P. Gautham said 35,125 applications had been received for 7,340 flats across 16 Hyderabad constituencies. The government plans to build one lakh houses under the scheme. Flats valued at ₹30–58 lakh are proposed to be offered for ₹6 lakh to eligible beneficiaries. The lottery is expected after August 20, with construction targeted for completion within a year.
- Gutha pays tribute to Patnam Mahender Reddy’s mother: Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy paid floral tributes to Patnam Rukkamma, mother of Government Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, at the latter’s residence in Banjara Hills and conveyed condolences to the family.
- KTR warns of agitation over Telangana water rights: BRS working president KTR warned that his party would launch a major agitation if Telangana’s river-water rights were compromised. He questioned the state government’s position on the upcoming Godavari River Management Board meeting and demanded protection of Telangana’s water interests.
- BC leaders discuss welfare and political issues: BC ministers, MLAs and leaders discussed welfare, employment, economic empowerment and political representation. Plans were announced for unveiling statues of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Savitribai Phule and Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud. Leaders also discussed a BC Sub-Plan, strengthening the BC Commission, clearing fee-reimbursement arrears and completing BC community self-respect buildings.
- Harish Rao criticises HYDRAA recruitment arrangements: BRS leader T. Harish Rao criticised the government over inadequate arrangements at Saroornagar Stadium for HYDRAA driver recruitment. He accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil employment promises and said the large turnout, including highly educated job seekers, reflected growing frustration among Telangana youth.
