In Jammu and Kashmir, two local Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district late last night.J&K police said that Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area yesterday following specific information about the presence of some terrorists. During the search, the terrorists opened fire at the security forces leading to a gunfight.
Security officials told AIR that an Over Ground Worker (OGW) working with terrorists, was arrested from the encounter site. The slain militants were identified as Dawood Lone and Sayyar Wani, both residents of Kulgam district.
The gunfight has ended but the search operation in the area is still underway.
