AIMIM chief says his support is based on development, not political affiliation
Saidabad Flyover: Owaisi Thanks Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad, Sept 3 (PMI) All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi praised the Telangana government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for its development initiatives in Hyderabad, while making it clear that his support was for Revanth Reddy personally and not for the Congress party.
Owaisi made the remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Saidabad Steel Flyover, constructed from Nalgonda X Road to Santosh Nagar Owaisi Junction in Hyderabad. Addressing the Congress leaders present at the event, Owaisi made his position clear, saying, “I support Revanth Reddy, not the Congress party.”
Owaisi thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for completing the flyover and said the project was highly significant for residents of the Old City. The flyover, built at an estimated cost of around Rs 620 crore, is expected to ease long-standing traffic congestion for commuters travelling towards Santosh Nagar, DRDO and surrounding areas.
Owaisi criticised the previous BRS government, claiming that the foundation stone for the Saidabad flyover had already been laid but the required funds were not released to complete the project. He said several requests had been made for budgetary allocation, but the issue did not receive adequate attention.
According to Owaisi, after Revanth Reddy assumed office as Chief Minister, Rs 620 crore was allocated for the flyover and construction work was expedited. He specially thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring the completion of the project.
Owaisi also referred to the proposed Metro Rail extension from Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma, which has remained pending for some time. He recalled that before becoming Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy had promised the people of Falaknuma that after assuming office, he and Owaisi would travel together to Falaknuma by Metro Rail. Owaisi expressed confidence that Revanth Reddy would fulfil the promise.
Praising the ongoing development in Hyderabad and Telangana, Owaisi advised the Chief Minister to continue taking the government forward in his own way and work towards establishing Telangana as one of the leading states in the country in terms of development.
Owaisi’s remarks have attracted political attention, particularly because AIMIM and the Congress have differed on several political issues in Telangana. However, at the Saidabad flyover inauguration, Owaisi stressed that his support for Revanth Reddy was based on development initiatives rather than political affiliation with the Congress party.
