Hyderabad, Sept 3 (PMI) The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has taken action against several eateries in Hyderabad after inspections uncovered serious food safety, hygiene, and licensing violations.
As part of a special enforcement drive, nine TG SAFE teams, comprising Food Safety Officers and police personnel, inspected 19 cafes and snack points across Hyderabad’s core urban areas. Officials reportedly found violations including expired food stock, poor sanitation, improper food storage and cockroach infestation.
Shadab Hotel’s FSSAI Licence Suspended
The FSSAI licence of Shadab Hotel in Madina has been suspended, with the management directed to stop business operations with immediate effect.
Officials said the hotel was found violating prescribed standards related to hygiene, sanitation and the storage of meat and other food items during the inspection.
Two Cafes Shut for Operating Without Licence
Authorities also shut down Dreamz Cafeteria in Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Café in Panjagutta after finding that both establishments were operating without a valid FSSAI licence or registration.
Violations Found Across 19 Establishments
The inspection drive covered several establishments, including Clock Tower Tea Cafe and Blue Sea Cafe in Secunderabad, Mirosa Cafe in Himayathnagar, Imroz Cafe in Ameerpet, Cafe Persia in Nampally and Persis in SR Nagar.
Officials reported multiple food safety and documentation violations across the establishments inspected, highlighting concerns over hygiene practices, food storage, and compliance with mandatory licensing requirements.
