Public Concern Over Alleged Unauthorised Movement at Police Stations, Senior Officers Urged to Verify

The report highlights public concerns about possible unauthorised influence around police stations and calls for verification by senior police officials, without making any conclusive allegation against any individual or organisation.

Hyderabad, September 4 (PMI): Hyderabad Police remain extensively engaged throughout the year in maintaining law and order during major religious festivals and public events. In particular, police personnel in sensitive areas, including the Charminar Division, often perform long hours of duty. The police are currently focused on ensuring peaceful arrangements for Ganesh Chaturthi, following security and crowd-management duties during Ramzan, Eid-ul-Adha, Muharram and Bonalu.

Amid these responsibilities, some members of the public have raised concerns regarding the presence and activities of certain individuals around police stations and other police-related establishments. However, such complaints require independent verification, and no individual should be labelled or treated as being involved in any wrongdoing merely on the basis of allegations or social-media material.

Some citizens have also expressed concerns about individuals sharing photographs on social media that appear to highlight their association or proximity with police officials. If such activities involve any misuse of the police name, undue influence over members of the public or attempts to derive personal benefit, the matter may warrant verification by the competent authorities.

There have also been concerns regarding certain social or religious organisations whose names may resemble those of government departments. Where such concerns arise, clarification regarding their legal status, activities and any claimed association with government institutions could help prevent public confusion.

This report is intended to highlight public concerns and does not constitute an allegation of criminal or unlawful activity against any individual or organisation. The common objective of law-abiding citizens, the police and responsible media should be to support crime prevention, uphold the rule of law and strengthen public confidence in law-enforcement agencies.

In view of the concerns raised by members of the public, senior police authorities, including Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar, Additional Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal and the concerned DCP, may consider reviewing complaints, if deemed necessary, regarding any unauthorised interference, mediation or undue influence at police stations. If any violation of law or departmental rules is established following due verification, appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the law.

It is reiterated that the above observations are based on public complaints and concerns. No conclusive allegation of criminal or unlawful activity is being made against any individual or organisation. (pressmediaofindia.com)
