Hyderabad, August 24 (PMI): The Markazi Anjuman Matami Grouhaan organised the historic Chup Tazia procession of the mourning season in Hyderabad on 22 August 2026, corresponding to 8 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 H. The procession commenced after the Majlis at Alawa-e-Yateema and passed through Dabirpura, Khet Balsetty and Ibadat Khana-e-Hussaini before reaching Bargah-e-Bimar-e-Karbala, Alawa-e-Sartouq, where it culminated in a Majlis-e-Pursa.
Along with the sacred replica of the Coffin of Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS), renowned reciter Tanveer Agha performed Nauha. Maulana Haider Zaidi delivered the address at the final Majlis of the mourning period.
Later, members of Anjuman Parwana-e-Shabbir, Anjuman Masoomeen, Groh e Abul Fazl and Groh e Jafri (Agha Abbasi) performed Matam and paid their tribute.
The final procession of the mourning season was supervised by Syed Najaf Ali Shoukat, President of the Markazi Anjuman Matami Grouhaan, Najabat Hussain Abidi, along with other office-bearers and members of the organisation.
Hundreds of mourners participated in the Chup Tazia procession. The mourners offered their condolences to Imam-e-Zamana (AS) with tearful eyes on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) and in remembrance of the return of the Ahl-e-Bait to Madina Munawara from the tragic events of Karbala.
With this procession, the two-month-and-eight-day mourning period came to an end.
After Maghrib prayers, as a symbol of celebration marking Eid-e-Zehra (SA), a red flag was hoisted at Alawa-e-Sartouq, marking the transition from the mourning period to the days of celebration. (pressmediaofindia.com)
