Hyderabad, May 1 (Najaf Ali Shoukat -PMIPMI): Senior IPS officer B. Sumathi IPS officially took on her role as the Commissioner of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate on Friday.
At the welcoming ceremony, she received a warm reception from senior police officials and staff. Upon taking charge, Sumathi spoke to the media, expressing both joy and a profound sense of responsibility as she became the first female Police Commissioner of Malkajgiri.
She emphasised that her main goal is to deliver public services that are transparent and efficient.
Sumathi expressed her commitment to maintaining Malkajgiri Commissionerate’s status as a peaceful area, vowing to uphold law and order without compromise.
The new Police Commissioner noted that modern technology would play a significant role in crime prevention, including the use of the AI-based “TG QUEST” system.
Additionally, Sumathi pointed out that, in response to the evolving landscape, a strict, process-oriented, and results-driven approach would be implemented to combat the rising number of cybercrimes, ensuring that victims can access timely and effective justice.
She highlighted the importance of focusing on the prevention, identification, and thorough investigation of drug trafficking and consumption, which has become a serious societal issue.
Sumathi further mentioned that AI-driven surveillance systems would be introduced to help protect youth from drug addiction.
Given the rising traffic congestion within the Commissionerate, she also announced that traffic management would be a priority, with measures implemented to ensure a smooth commute for all. (pressmediaofindia.com)
