Senior IPS Officer Dr. Tarun Joshi Assumes Charge as Future City Police Commissioner

Hyderabad, May 1 (Najaf Ali Shoukat _PMI) Senior IPS officer Dr. Tarun Joshi officially assumed charge as the new Future City Police Commissioner on Friday at the commissionerate office in Thukkuguda. He succeeds G. Sudheer Babu, who retired from service on April 30 after completing his tenure.

A 2004-batch officer of the Indian Police Service, Tarun Joshi, brings with him vast administrative and policing experience. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, where he handled several sensitive investigations and anti-graft initiatives.

Upon his arrival at the commissionerate, Joshi was warmly welcomed by senior police officers and staff members. He later reviewed the functioning of various wings and interacted with officials regarding law enforcement priorities in the rapidly developing Future City region.

Originally from Punjab, Tarun Joshi has an inspiring academic background. Before joining the civil services, he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the Government Dental College and Hospital. He later cleared the highly competitive Civil Services Examination and joined the united Andhra Pradesh cadre as an IPS officer.

Over the years, Joshi has served in multiple important assignments and earned a reputation as an efficient, disciplined, and technology-oriented officer. His experience spans crime control, administration, vigilance, and public policing.

Addressing officials after taking charge, Joshi said his top priorities would include maintaining law and order, curbing drug-related crimes, tackling rising cybercrime cases, and improving traffic management across the commissionerate limits. He emphasized the need for proactive policing and a timely response to public grievances.

He further stated that advanced technology would be effectively used to curb criminal activities, monitor law and order situations, and improve policing services. He assured that transparent, accountable, and people-friendly policing would be implemented to strengthen public trust.

Apart from his professional achievements, Tarun Joshi is also known for his passion for adventure and mountaineering. He underwent formal training at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and successfully climbed Mount Renak in 2017. Since then, he has scaled several prominent mountain peaks, reflecting his determination and endurance.
