Hyderabad August 10 (PMI) Telangana has recorded a strong presence in the private medical colleges category of the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) rankings, with 18 institutions from the State featuring among the top 187 private medical colleges in the country.
Telangana currently has 29 private medical colleges, collectively offering around 5,850 MBBS seats. The national top position in the private medical colleges category was secured by Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.
The IIRF rankings present a mixed picture of Telangana’s medical education sector. Established government institutions such as Gandhi Medical College and Osmania Medical College have secured positions in the upper half of the national government medical colleges list. However, several newer government medical colleges established during the State’s recent expansion of medical education do not figure among the 144 institutions ranked in the government medical colleges category.
Three Telangana Dental Colleges Ranked
Telangana also secured representation in the IIRF dental colleges rankings, with three institutions making it to the list.
Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad, emerged as the highest-ranked Telangana dental college, securing 33rd position. It was followed by Malla Reddy Institute of Dental Sciences, Hyderabad, at 53rd, and Malla Reddy Dental College for Women, Hyderabad, at 64th position.
Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi, secured the top position in the national dental colleges category.
What Does IIRF Measure?
The IIRF rankings assess institutions across nine broad parameters, which together account for 100% of the overall evaluation. These include academic reputation, graduate outcomes and employability, research outcomes, demand ratio and student profile, employer reputation and international outlook, wellbeing and institutional development, peer perception and alumni feedback, public perception and data verification, and impact and value addition.
The methodology goes beyond academic performance and evaluates institutions based on research achievements, employability, institutional development, stakeholder perceptions and the wider impact and value generated by an institution. (pressmediaofindia.com)
