Hyderabad, Dec.16 (PMI): On Friday evening, sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), Balanagar Zone along with Jeedimetla police, apprehended two interstate drug peddlers identified as Bablu Khare alias Krishna and Govind Patidar of Madhya Pradesh for transporting ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra and seized 400 kg Ganja, a lorry and two mobile phones all worth about Rs one crore. Another two accused Bablu of Orissa (supplier) and Aravind of Lathur, Maharashtra (receiver) are absconding.
Police said the accused engaged a lorry of South Gujarat Carriers Transport, Indore and used to go to Rajahmundry, Odissa and other States for doing drug smuggling business to earn easy money by transporting the banned narcotic drugs in their vehicle. Recently, the duo contacted one Bablu of Odissa, who was dealing with the banned Ganja and asked him to transport Ganja from Rajahmundry area to Lathur and handed over the same to A4 Aravind of Lathur.
On December 15, while the accused A1 and A2 were transporting the Ganja in the lorry, the Balanagar SOT team, with the assistance of Jeedimetla police, intercepted the vehicle and arrested the accused and seized 400 kg of Ganja, the lorry and two mobile phones from A1 and A2. (PMI)
