Hyderabad, April 18 (PMI) The historic Matami organisation of Hyderabad, Anjuman Saqaye Sakinaؐ, has been revived, following which it has taken steps to rejoin the Markazi Anjuman Matami Gurohaan Telangana State
In this regard, the founder and president of the organisation, Syed Asghar Ali Khan, and general secretary Muhammad Yousuf met Syed Najaf Ali Shaukat, president of the Markazi Anjuman Matami Gurohaan Telangana State. During the meeting, they formally submitted an application seeking the re-induction of their organisation into the central body.
Syed Najaf Ali Shaukat accepted the request and stated that the matter will be placed in the upcoming meeting to be held before the month of Muharram, where formal approval will be granted.
It is worth noting that Anjuman Saqaye Sakinaؐ was established in 1978 and was once considered one of the prominent Matami organisations of the city. Notable personalities associated with the organisation include Late Syed Alamdar Hussain Najafi, known for his recitation of nohas, while Agha Muhammad Shirazi served as vice president and also actively participated in marsiya and noha recitations. Every year, the organisation traditionally holds its farewell majlis on 5 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Religious circles have welcomed the revival of the organisation and its move to rejoin the central body, terming it a positive and encouraging development. (pressmediaofindia.com)
