Hyderabad’ Sept 17 ( Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has received 5,77,064 applications from around 4.29 lakh candidates for recruitment to 7,437 vacancies in the Police and allied departments.
The online application process, which commenced on August 19, 2026, closed on September 16. According to the TSLPRB, candidates submitted an average of 1.34 applications each. About 68.45 per cent of applicants applied for a single post, while 28.88 per cent submitted applications for two posts.
The recruitment drive includes 298 Sub-Inspector/Assistant Sub-Inspector-level posts and 7,139 Police Constable-level posts in departments including Police, Special Protection Force, Fire, Disaster Response and Emergency Services, Civil Defence, and Prisons and Correctional Services.
The SI Civil and equivalent preliminary written examination, involving nearly 1.61 lakh candidates, is tentatively scheduled for November 29 at the erstwhile 10 district headquarters.
The Police Constable Civil and equivalent preliminary examination, for nearly 3.89 lakh candidates, is tentatively scheduled for December 20 at around 15–18 locations, including the erstwhile 10 district headquarters.
For the first time in this recruitment process, the Board has introduced Aadhaar Face Authentication as an additional measure to help prevent impersonation during recruitment.
The Telangana government had also announced age relaxation of seven years for SI/ASI-level and Police Constable Driver posts and 10 years for other Police Constable-level posts. The Board estimates that the relaxation benefited approximately 1.13 lakh candidates.
The TSLPRB said the application figures may undergo minor changes due to duplication, validation or invalidation of applications, delayed bank validations and court-related matters.
