Hyderabad, Sept 17 (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) As part of a professional training programme, a delegation of 54 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP)-rank officers from the Bihar Police Academy visited the SHE Teams, Hyderabad, to gain insights into the city police initiative aimed at preventing crimes against women and children.
During the visit, the officers interacted with personnel and officials of the SHE Teams and discussed the unit’s functioning, operational procedures and strategies adopted to address complaints and incidents involving women and children.
The visiting officers were briefed on the various mechanisms followed by SHE Teams in identifying and responding to instances of harassment and other forms of crime against women in public places. The interaction also focused on the importance of preventive policing, rapid response, surveillance and coordination with other police units.
The Bihar Police Academy trainees also gained an understanding of the practical challenges involved in ensuring the safety and security of women and children and the role of specialised policing teams in addressing such concerns.
Officials explained the best practices adopted by SHE Teams in Hyderabad, including field-level interventions, monitoring of vulnerable locations and awareness initiatives designed to promote a safer environment for women.
The interaction provided the visiting DSP-rank officers an opportunity to exchange views and learn from the operational experience of the Hyderabad SHE Teams. The programme also highlighted the importance of sharing policing practices and strengthening professional capabilities through inter-state training and institutional interaction.
The visit was part of the ongoing training and exposure programme for officers of the Bihar Police Academy, aimed at familiarising them with innovative policing initiatives and specialised approaches to public safety. (pressmediaofindia.com)
