Hyderabad, Oct.8 (Shoukat-PMI): Telangana DGP C.V. Anand IPS has directed the police units lagging in the implementation of the new criminal laws to improve their performance and focus on crime control, investigation quality and conviction rates.
Addressing a special review meeting at the CID office here on Thursday with the Police Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and other officials concerned, Anand reviewed the performance of units that ranked low in the State’s crime performance assessment.
The review covered six key areas, including case disposal, the sexual offence tracking system, speedy trials, FIR registration at crime scenes and e-evidence. The DGP directed the officials to make effective use of Zero FIR, online charge-sheets, e-evidence, e-summons, Nyayashruti and ICJS. (pressmediaofindia.com)
