Hyderabad, April 22 (PMI) Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Vice Chairman and Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy has cautioned employees that the ongoing strike could be deemed legally invalid, as the Labour Department is already engaged in resolving the dispute.
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy said that participation in the strike may invite disciplinary action under existing service regulations. He also referred to provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, stressing that such actions could have legal consequences.
Reaffirming the management’s willingness to address workers’ concerns, Mr. Reddy stated that all issues can be resolved through dialogue. He emphasized that maintaining the corporation’s reputation is a shared responsibility and urged employees to avoid causing inconvenience to passengers.
The statement further appealed to workers and union leaders not to rely on unauthorised calls for strike circulated via media or social platforms. “We request all staff to call off the strike and resume duties immediately,” it added.
Meanwhile, sources said that Mr. Reddy is expected to meet Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who also holds the Finance portfolio. The meeting is likely to focus on complex issues, including the possible absorption of TGSRTC employees into the State government. (pressmediaofindia.com)
