Two delivery workers allegedly murdered a mason in Secunderabad for just ₹110 and a mobile phone, but were later arrested through CCTV footage and technical evidence.

Hyderabad, June 9 (PMI): Police have solved a murder case that occurred within the limits of the Lalaguda Police Station in Secunderabad and arrested two accused, who have been remanded to judicial custody. The case details were disclosed at the Secunderabad Zone DCP office by DCP Rakshitha K Murthy and Additional DCP J. Narsaiah.

According to police, on the morning of June 3, Lalaguda police received information that an unidentified body was lying near the Tukaram Gate Railway Bridge. Upon reaching the spot, officers found a man lying dead in a pool of blood. Preliminary investigation revealed that he had been murdered by being struck on the head with stones. A liquor bottle and a bag were also found at the scene.

Police registered a case and formed four special teams to identify the deceased and trace the culprits. After three days of investigation, the victim was identified as Jaiprakash Deshmukh, aged 38, a native of Madhya Pradesh who worked as a mason in Hyderabad.

Investigators found that on June 2, Jaiprakash had arrived in Secunderabad from Kazipet and was on his way to his brother’s house when he was killed. In the Monda Market area, he came into contact with Dabhi Vinod, 30, a grocery delivery worker from Tukaram Gate, and Makkala Mohan, 19, a food delivery worker from Addagutta.

The accused allegedly lured Jaiprakash to a deserted area on the pretext of dropping him at the railway station and attempted to rob him of cash and his mobile phone. When he resisted, they attacked his head with large stones and killed him. They then fled with ₹110 in cash and the victim’s mobile phone.

Using CCTV footage and technical evidence, police arrested both accused on June 8. Police said that Dabhi Vinod had previously been involved in other criminal cases.

ACP K. Shashanth Reddy, Inspector T. Ashok Kumar, Task Force Inspector Rajashekhar, and DI Madhubabu were also present during the briefing. (pressmediaofindia.com)
