Hyderabad, August 9 (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, inspected the elaborate security arrangements at the Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple in Lal Darwaza on Sunday in connection with the Ashada Bonalu celebrations. Following the inspection, the Commissioner offered special prayers at the temple.
Speaking to the media, Commissioner Sajjanar said robust security arrangements have been put in place for 48 hours in and around the temple and along the procession routes. He said the Bonalu celebrations were progressing peacefully with the cooperation of devotees and without major inconvenience.
The Commissioner highlighted the use of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled surveillance systems as part of the security measures. AI-powered cameras are being used for continuous monitoring and to assist police in identifying suspected thieves and chain-snatchers in crowded areas.
As many as 2,400 police personnel have been deployed in two shifts for bandobast duties. SHE Teams, Crime Teams and static police pickets have also been deployed at temples and other sensitive locations to ensure the safety and security of devotees.
In addition, drones and extra CCTV cameras have been installed at the temple premises and along the procession routes. A dedicated central control room near Union Bank at Lal Darwaza has been established to monitor security arrangements and coordinate the police response.
The inspection was attended by Additional CP (Crimes) Srinivas, IPS; Additional CP (Law & Order) Tafseer Iqbal, IPS; Joint CP (Traffic) Joel Davis, IPS; Charminar Zone DCP Khare Kiran Prabhakar, IPS; Traffic DCP Rahul Hegde; CAR Headquarters DCP R. Venkateswarlu; DCPs Srinivas and Lavanya, along with other senior police officials.
Police officials said the combination of AI-based surveillance, CCTV monitoring, drone surveillance, dedicated teams and extensive personnel deployment is aimed at ensuring a safe and peaceful Bonalu festival for devotees. (pressmediaofindia.com)
