Hyderabad: Overseas Job Scam Busted, Two Held

Hyderabad, April 15 (PMI) In Hyderabad, Jubilee Hills police exposed a major job fraud in which unemployed youth were duped with promises of overseas employment, with the accused collecting nearly ₹60 lakh.

Police arrested two suspects, L Nirupama and M Arun Raju, who allegedly posed as representatives of a foreign job consultancy on social media. They reportedly charged victims between ₹4 lakh and ₹5 lakh each without obtaining any authorization from the Ministry of External Affairs.

To gain credibility, the duo issued fake work permits and authorization documents. After collecting the money, they cut off all communication with the victims.

Around 15 victims have so far lodged complaints with the police. Authorities are now searching for eight more individuals, including the alleged mastermind and CEO of the fake firm, who are currently absconding.

Investigators believe the gang may have carried out similar scams earlier in areas such as KPHB Colony, and suspect that more victims may come forward as the probe continues. (pressmediaofindia.com)
