Hyderabad : Man Attacks Food Joint Staff with Sword Over ₹10 Dispute

Hyderabad, April 26 (PMI) A shocking incident took place in Hyderabad where a man allegedly attacked staff members of a food outlet with a sword after a dispute over the price of a curry packet.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10 pm at Sai Foods in Beeramguda under the jurisdiction of Ameenpur Police Station. The accused, identified as Jeevarathnam, had demanded a curry packet for ₹10, while the actual price was ₹20. When the staff refused to sell it at the lower price, an argument broke out.

The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation, as seen in CCTV footage, with both the accused and staff pushing and grabbing each other.

In a sudden fit of rage, Jeevarathnam reportedly chased the employees around the counter and attacked them with a sword. The frightened staff tried to protect themselves using plastic stools while pleading with him to stop.

The accused also pulled down the shop shutter, temporarily trapping three to four employees inside. However, one of the workers managed to reopen the shutter, allowing everyone to escape safely.

Police registered a case of attempted murder the same night, and efforts are currently underway to apprehend the accused. (pressmediaofindia.com)
