Hyderabad, September 12 (Ali Abbas-PMI): Charminar Zone Police on Saturday held a coordination meeting with members of the Central Peace Committee to review security arrangements and preparations for the upcoming Ganesh Festival and immersion processions.
The meeting was chaired by Kiran Khare, IPS, DCP Charminar Zone, and attended by all Divisional ACPs, Station House Officers (SHOs), and members of the Central Peace Committee.
During the meeting, the DCP reviewed the arrangements in detail and sought the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the festival and immersion processions are conducted in a safe, peaceful and orderly manner.
As the Ganesh immersion procession is scheduled for Friday, the DCP appealed to Peace Committee members, festival organisers and the public to maintain communal harmony, mutual respect and peace, and celebrate the festival in a spirit of brotherhood.
He urged Peace Committee members to actively coordinate with the Police Department, maintain communication with local communities and organisers, and assist in preventing misunderstandings, rumours, disputes and other incidents that could disturb public order.
The DCP also called upon organisers and the public to follow police instructions, cooperate with traffic and security personnel, maintain discipline during the processions and ensure that celebrations do not cause unnecessary inconvenience to the general public.
Appreciating the role of the Central Peace Committee in promoting communal harmony, Kiran Khare urged its members to extend their full cooperation to the Police Department before and during the festival.
“Let us celebrate Ganesh Festival together with peace, harmony and mutual respect. Our collective responsibility is to ensure Zero Violence, Zero Nuisance and a Safe & Peaceful Ganesh Festival,” the DCP said.

DCP M.A. Majeed, ACP Charminar Chandra Shekar, Chief Patron Central Peace and Welfare Committee Hafiz Muzaffar Hussain, All Zone Secretary Sri Kishan Sharma, President Charminar Zone M.A. Moiz, Senior journalist Najaf Ali Shoukat, Dr. Zain, Md Ali Basheer, Muneer Qaudri, Rama Raju and others addressed the meeting.
