Hyderabad, Sept. 28 (Shoukat-PMI) Borabanda Police have executed Preventive Detention (PD) Act orders against an alleged illegal liquor shop operator, Vemula Sarala, of Banjara Nagar, Borabanda, for her alleged repeated involvement in the unauthorized sale of liquor.

The action was taken on September 26, 2026, as per the orders of Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, under the provisions of the Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act.

According to Borabanda Police, Sarala, 45, wife of V. Srinivasulu and a resident of Banjara Nagar, had allegedly been running an illegal belt shop within the Borabanda Police Station limits for the past several years. She was reportedly involved in multiple cases related to the unauthorized sale of liquor.

Considering her alleged continued involvement in unlawful activities, the police executed the PD Act orders against her.

Warning to Illegal Belt Shop Operators

 Station House Officer, Borabanda Police B. Ravi Kumar. have issued a stern warning to individuals operating illegal belt shops and selling liquor without valid licences in violation of the Telangana Excise Act.

The police warned that cases would be registered under the Telangana Excise Act against those found selling liquor illegally. The PD Act would also be invoked against habitual offenders.

Landlords and others providing premises or shelter for operating illegal belt shops would also be made accused in such cases, police said.

The public has been requested to report illegal belt shops and unauthorized liquor sales to Borabanda Police by dialling 112. The identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential. (pressmediaofindia.com)
