Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar IPS said nearly 20,000 police personnel have been deployed, with around 10,000 CCTV cameras linked to the TGICCC, to ensure the peaceful and safe conduct of the Ganesh immersion and Shobha Yatra.
Hyderabad’Sept 26 (Shoukat-PMI) City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said that elaborate security arrangements have been made by the police department to ensure that the Ganesh idol immersion festivities and Shobha Yatra are conducted peacefully and in a grand manner across the city.
On Saturday, Commissioner Sajjanar, accompanied by senior police officials, inspected the security arrangements and preparations for the immersion of the Khairatabad Bada Ganesh idol at the field level. Earlier, he participated in special prayers for Bada Ganesh along with police officials.
Speaking to the media later, the Commissioner said measures had been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the Khairatabad Mahaganapathi immersion as well as the main Shobha Yatra from Balapur to Hussainsagar.
He said the police were working according to a comprehensive advance plan in coordination with various government departments, including the GHMC, Electricity Department and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), as per the directions of the Telangana government.
Around 20,000 police personnel have been deployed for security duties, he said.
The Commissioner said advanced technology was being extensively used to continuously monitor the Shobha Yatra. Nearly 10,000 CCTV cameras installed along the major procession routes have been connected to the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) in Banjara Hills, from where officials will monitor the movement.
Giving priority to the safety of women and young girls, 26 SHE Teams will remain deployed in crowded areas in three shifts, he said.

advised the public to closely follow the traffic guidelines issued periodically by the city traffic police during the immersion festivities and plan their journeys accordingly.
The Commissioner said the police department was working continuously to ensure that the immersion festivities conclude peacefully and safely. He appealed to citizens to celebrate the festival in a peaceful atmosphere and with joy and enthusiasm. (pressmediaofindia.com)
