Hyderabad:BC groups to protest on 18th: R. Krishnaiah MP

42% reservations must be made legal..

Hyderabad-Feb’13 (PMI) Rajya Sabha member and BC Welfare Association National President R. Krishnaiah has called for BCs to occupy all government offices across the state on the 18th of this month, demanding that the caste census survey be conducted again, 42% reservations be made legal in local elections, and elections be held only after that. He asked them to occupy district collectorates, RDO and tehsildar offices and hold dharnas and protests.

He participated as the chief guest and spoke at the BC leaders’ meeting held at the Hyderabad Basheerbagh Press Club on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Unemployment JAC Chairman Neela Venkatesh. He said that he strongly condemns CM Revanth Reddy’s statement that 42% reservation for BCs should be provided legally as promised in the Congress election manifesto, but he will give it on a party basis. Are we beggars to give it on a party basis? He said. ‘According to the Constitution, we should be given our share. Otherwise, we will turn the state into a fire pit,’ he warned.

He said that 14 BC associations and 30 caste associations had discussed reservations at BC Bhavan. He made it clear that they would not tolerate stubbornness in reservations using the previous Supreme Court verdict as an excuse. He demanded that the CM immediately convene an all-party meeting and know the decisions of all parties. He strongly warned that the Congress government would face its end if injustice was done to BCs. BC leaders Vemula Ramakrishna, Gorige Mallesh, Nandagopal, BC women’s leader Kirtilatha Gowda, Modi Ramdev, Shiva, Ravi Yadav, Jayanthi Gowda and others participated.(PMI)
