Hyderabad, Sept 14 (PMI) An overhead electrical equipment (OHE) failure was reported between Secunderabad and Lalaguda stations on Sunday night after power lines reportedly snapped over a moving Intercity Express near Moulali.
The incident occurred at around 10 p.m., when a loud noise was heard, and the train was stopped near Moulali as a precautionary measure. Amid the confusion, some passengers reportedly stepped out of the train.
South Central Railway officials immediately initiated restoration measures to repair the damaged overhead electrical equipment and restore normal train operations.
Railway authorities said that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
Following the OHE failure, a few trains were briefly detained or regulated for less than 10 minutes. The affected services were subsequently allowed to resume their journeys.
Train No. 12795 Vijayawada–Lingampalli Express, which was detained in the section, was being moved towards Secunderabad.
Railway officials later clarified that both up and down train services in the section were operating normally after restoration measures were undertaken. (pressmediaofindia.com)
