Peddapally: A girl staged protest in front of her boyfriend’s house demanding marriage with him at Maidupally village in Manthani mandal in the district on Wednesday. Her boyfriend escaped from the back door and attempted to commit suicide in the field by consuming pesticide. He is undergoing treatment at government in Karimnagar.Sindhu and Rajanikanth were in a relationship when they were students in Hyderabad. After finishing studies, Sindhu asked the boy to marry her but he was avoiding it on some pretext or the other. On Wednesday, Sindhu along with her mother and other family members staged a sit-in at the boy’s house and refused to go until he marries her.
As the situation got tensed up, the boy escaped from the back door of his house and was later found in an unconscious state in nearby fields. Police found a pesticide bottle at the spot and shifted him to a hospital where he was found to have consumed the poisonous liquid.
On learning about the boyfriend’s suicide attempt, Sindhu and her family members fled the scene.
