Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (west) team raided a gambling den being operated from an apartment at SR Nagar and caught 20 persons. The police seized Rs.4.88 lakh in cash and playing cards from them.
Acting on a tip off, the team raided a flat at Swarna Apartments in Kalyan Nagar, Ameerpet, and found the persons were playing three card games and gambling.
S Ramakanth Reddy, the organizer, had invited them to participate in the gambling and collected a commission for every game. “Those found gambling hail from different areas of the city and gathered at the premises after being informed by Ramakanth Reddy about the plan a few days in advance,” said DCP Task Force, P Radha Kishan Rao.
The persons along with the property were handed over to the SR Nagar police station for further action.
