Strengthening Communal Harmony is the Need of the Hour: DCP South Zone Sneha Mehra’IPS

“In times of national crisis, people of all communities and faiths must unite to uphold peace, tolerance, and national unity.”

 

Hyderabad, May 10 (Shoukat-PMI)– In a strong call for unity and public awareness, DCP South Zone Smt Sneha Mehra (IPS) highlighted the urgent need to strengthen communal harmony across India. She was speaking at a public awareness event organized by the Hyderabad Central Peace and Welfare Committee – South Zone, a body that has been promoting peace and harmony in the city for over four decades.

Held at Sanjari Function Hall under the leadership of committee president Khawaja Abdul Moiz, the meeting aimed to inform citizens about safety measures amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

“The Peace Committee has stood shoulder to shoulder with the police during critical times,” said DCP Mehra, acknowledging the committee’s valuable contributions to maintaining law and order.

During her speech, Mehra moved the audience by reciting lines from the patriotic song sung by Lata Mangeshkar:

“Ae mere watan ke logon, zara aankh mein bhar lo paani,
Jo shaheed huye hain unki, zara yaad karo qurbani.”

She also extended heartfelt sympathy to the families of soldiers safeguarding the country at the borders.

 

Call for Unity Across Communities

Several active members of the Peace Committee—including K.A. MoizNajaf Ali Shaukat(Journalist), Dr zainMuneer Qadri, and Rama Raju echoed a unified message: Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians must come together to protect the nation and uphold peace.

“Unity in diversity is India’s strength. We must ensure it remains unbroken,” the speakers stressed.

They called for a firm, united stance against cross-border provocations, urging an end to repeated disturbances.

Police Engagement and Safety Awareness

Assistant Commissioners of Police from Falaknuma, Chatrinaka, and Mirchowk addressed the gathering, while Inspector of Bhavaninagar demonstrated emergency response techniques to help citizens prepare for any untoward incident.

The event was smoothly moderated by Aneess ur Rahman, a long-time volunteer of the Peace Committee.

A Message of Peace and Vigilance

The meeting concluded with a unanimous message: in times of national tension, communities must rise above divisions and work together to safeguard the values of peace, mutual respect, and national integrity.(pressmediaofindia.com)
