MELBOURNE: Today (Sunday), 5^th of May 2019, the moon of Ramzan 1440 has not been sighted anywhere in Australia. Therefore, the members of National Hilaal Committee Australia (NHCA) of Australia have declared the month of 1440 will begin from Tuesday, 7^th of May 2019 while, according to a statement released by the Australia National Imams Council (ANIC), after extensive consultations with Islamic leaders across Australia, the Grand Mufti of the country, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamad and the ANIC declared May 6 as the first day of Ramzan there.
