- ANPR Cameras, AI to Strengthen Transport Surveillance
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said 60 ANPR cameras will be installed to detect traffic violations, while AI technology will strengthen transport surveillance. The department has appointed 113 AMVIs, 50 constables, 20 junior assistants and four MVIs. Check-posts were abolished, enforcement teams strengthened, and efforts are underway to make TGSRTC the country’s best public transport organisation.

BJP Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman called for greater public participation in combating malnutrition, stressing that a healthy India begins with healthy children. Speaking at POSHAN MAAH 2026, he urged youth to spread nutrition awareness, promote millets and traditional foods, embrace sports and fitness, and explore nutrition-related innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Bhatti Hands Over ₹1 Crore Insurance
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka handed over a ₹1 crore accident insurance cheque to Boda Swathi, wife of deceased TRANSCO employee Shankar Reddy. Reddy died in an electrical short-circuit accident while performing duty at Huzurabad in October 2025. Bhatti advised the family to use the insurance amount for children’s welfare, education and future security.
- Red Cross Elections on October 4
The Indian Red Cross Society Telangana State Branch will conduct elections to management committees of 30 district branches simultaneously on October 4. More than 66,000 new members were enrolled between May and August, taking total membership beyond 1.13 lakh. Election guidelines, schedules and voters’ lists will be sent to District Collectors for smooth conduct.
- High Court Lifts Stay on Welfare Schemes
The Telangana High Court division bench lifted the interim stay imposed on the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes. The government challenged the single judge’s order, arguing that the welfare schemes had operated since 2014 and the petitioner was not a beneficiary. Accepting the government’s arguments, the division bench allowed both schemes to continue.
- Governor Offers Prayers at Tirumala
Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, accompanied by family members, visited the Tirumala temple and offered special prayers to Lord Sri Venkateswara. Vedic scholars performed Veda Ashirvachanam and temple authorities presented Theertha Prasadam. The Governor later visited Sri Siddheshwar Teerth and Sri Brahmarishi Ashram before offering prayers at Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple.

Telangana Gangaputra Sangam urged the government to give traditional fishermen families priority in allocating ponds under the Jalasiri programme. State secretary T. Rajesh Khanna submitted a representation to Prajavani authorities. He said the government’s plan to construct 50,000 ponds could provide livelihoods to economically weaker traditional fishing families dependent on the occupation for generations.
- Merit List for 1,931 Health Assistant Posts
The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board released the provisional merit list for 1,931 female Multi-Purpose Health Assistant posts. Shortlisted candidates will undergo certificate verification from September 16 to 26 in Hyderabad, with September 28 as a reserve day. The final merit and selection lists will be released after verification. Candidates must bring original certificates and copies.

Forum for Good Governance president M. Padmanabha Reddy demanded reforms in legislators’ salaries and allowances, alleging excessive non-taxable benefits facilitate tax avoidance. He sought deletion of provisions making the government pay ministers’ income tax, withdrawal of Minister of State rank for Whips and limiting each political party to one Whip.

- Technical Team to Inspect Kothagudem Airport Sites
A Central technical team will inspect four to five proposed sites in Bhadradri Kothagudem on September 7 for a greenfield airport. Preliminary studies identified Seethampeta and Sujathanagar as suitable locations, with about 667 acres available. The team will assess geography, climate, land acquisition, runway suitability and technical requirements before further decisions on the project.

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao criticised the Congress government’s 1,000-day rule, calling it “Praja Vanchana Palana.” He alleged failures involving farmer assistance, jobs, salaries, pensions, fee reimbursement and welfare promises. Rao also criticised HYDRAA, HILT and CURE, and alleged law-and-order deterioration. He said BJP would continue its agitation from streets to Assembly.

In a social media post, he accused the Congress government of suppressing opposition voices and pledged to continue the party’s campaign. - Two Hash Oil Peddlers Arrested
Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and S.R. Nagar Police arrested two alleged hash oil peddlers and seized 1.710 litres of hash oil worth ₹21.37 lakh and two mobile phones. Police said the accused procured the contraband in Odisha and travelled to Hyderabad to sell it. They were apprehended while waiting for a prospective customer in S.R. Nagar.
- Kishan Directs Uninterrupted Coal Supply
Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy directed government coal companies to ensure adequate and uninterrupted supplies to thermal power stations amid rising electricity demand. He noted that 28 plants had low coal stocks and ordered immediate transportation. Singareni was directed to maintain supplies under existing agreements and assured continued efforts to meet growing power requirements.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu pledged special development attention to Narsapuram while highlighting welfare, governance and economic empowerment. He announced an Aquaculture University, dump yard and Delta modernisation works. Naidu said ₹73,507 crore had been distributed through pensions and ₹1.50 lakh crore spent on welfare programmes during two years.
