Middle Eastern Countries Deplore Islamophobia in India on Spread of Covid-19

By Syed Baqer Ali

Hyderabad April 19 (Newslines): The communal propagation of news and social media in victimizing a particular community in India blaming them for spreading Corona virus Covid-19 has started to take its toll on the Non Resident Indians (NRI’s) specially working or doing business in the Gulf States.

Several Indians working in the Gulf Counties have either lost their jobs or facing jails and deportations for their Islamophobic social media posts. Many Indians living in these countries are either knowingly or unknowingly falling into the ensnare of the communal agenda of the right wing parties and organization which is being amplified by the biased, false and communal targeting of Muslims by some electronic media houses.

It has to be brought to the notice of our readers that about 8 to 9 Million Indians work in these Gulf States and every year billions of dollars are transferred to India by them. And let us be specific that about 65 percent of these workers from India are Hindus and 35 percent comprises of other religion. With the foolishness of certain Andh bhakhts, who are being used as puppets by the social media wings of certain political parties and organizations to whip up communal flares to hide the failures of Government or party on certain issue and to divert the attention of the citizen to some other issue by giving it communal flare up.

Many Indian brands have ventured into the Gulf Markets and have created a space for them and the Indian Business Community was slowly emerging in them,  apart from the guest workers with the hard work of Indian community living there supported and patronized by the Indian foreign missions through its Embassies and Consulates.

All these efforts and Indian reputation among the people of the Gulf Counties and their Government is taking a hit with the growing Islamophobia rhetoric by the electronic media and targeting and insulting of Muslims by the IT cell of Right Wing Hindutwa parties and their organizations.

Recently the Princess Hend Al Qassimi from UAE who is also an acclaimed author took a dismal view of an Islamophobic Tweet by an Indian businessman and wrote “Anyone that is openly racist and discriminatory in the UAE will be fined and made to leave. An example”  Stories of many Indian workers being fired or arrested are coming from various Gulf nations after their post on social media was seen to be Insulting Islam.

Voices have started growing among the Middle-Eastern people to caution the Indian government to stop targeting Islam and Muslims. They are demanding their Governments to reciprocate if Islamophobia is not stopped. Some people have even started #boycott Indian and Indian products. Hope the government will look into this whole matter and stem the anti India narrative which is taking place in the Gulf countries due to the Islamophobia in prevention and cure of Corona virus covid-19 pandemic in India. (Newslines)

Opposition parties opposing women’s quota, delimitation for politics: Kishan Reddy New Delhi, April 17 (PMI): Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday accused the opposition parties of resisting the Women’s Reservation and Delimitation Bills for political mileage. Talking to newsmen, he asserted that the Centre’s proposed formula ensures fairness to all states, rejecting claims of injustice to southern regions. Reddy alleged that parties fear losing dominance if new leadership emerges through reservations and constituency changes. He also criticized regional parties for spreading “false propaganda” and called for a public debate on the issue. “Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, and the Central Government delivered a very clear message that no state would suffer any injustice whatsoever. Unlike the manner in which the delimitation was conducted when the Congress party was in power, we are introducing a Bill that is favorable and acceptable to all, ensuring equitable justice for every state. Despite this, the opposition continues to engage in false propaganda within Parliament. Citing census data, they claimed that the population in the South was declining and that the region would be penalized for having successfully implemented family planning measures. Initially, their argument was that if the constituency delimitation were to be undertaken following the census, the South would inevitably face injustice. However, today, recognizing the sentiments of the people and ensuring that the number of seats in the South does not diminish, the Modi government has introduced a formula involving a 50% increase”, he noted. Further, Kishan Reddy alleged that from the very beginning, it has been a calculated conspiracy by the Majlis party to ensure that the women are denied any form of political reservation. Statements made by Majlis party leaders specifically Akbaruddin Owaisi suggesting that the entry of the women into politics would give rise to new complications and problems, are officially recorded in the Assembly records. Fearing that a delimitation of constituencies in Hyderabad could jeopardize their own seats, the Majlis party is now conspiring in tandem with both the Congress and the BRS parties . Having held consultations with these two parties, the Majlis party is actively campaigning against both the proposed delimitation and the provision of Women’s reservations”, he remarked. (PMI)
