Man Arrested for Throwing Beer Bottles at Mosque in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, October 5, (PMI) The Hyderabad police arrested a man for allegedly throwing beer bottles in front of a mosque during a religious procession in the RC Puram area.

The incident occurred on Saturday night near Masjid-E-Noorani at Bombay Colony while a Durga Devi procession was passing through the locality. The accused, identified as Deva, was reportedly intoxicated at the time.

According to the complaint, Deva stopped the procession, washed his face with beer, and threw the bottles at the mosque’s entrance, while also raising provocative slogans. The act caused tension among residents before police intervened and restored order.

Deva was arrested and booked under Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot. He was later produced before the court and sent to judicial remand.

Police officials said stringent action would be taken against any attempts to disturb communal peace in the city. (pressmediaofindia.com)
