Lost ₹1,11,23,700 in Cyber Fraud via Stock Market Scam

Hyderabad Jan 19 (PMI) While browsing Facebook, a private employee fell victim to cybercriminals and lost ₹1,11,23,700. The fraudsters lured the victim, a resident of Uppal, by claiming that he could earn huge profits by trading stocks on a securities trading platform allegedly linked to reputed banks and institutions.

The scammers collected a total of ₹1,11,28,700 from the victim through multiple transactions. Initially, the victim received only ₹5,000 as “profit,” which convinced him that the platform was legitimate. However, when he tried to withdraw the displayed money, the scammers imposed various rules and restrictions, making him realize it was a scam.

The victim then filed a complaint with the Malkajgiri Cyber Crime Police. The case is currently under investigation.(pressmediaofindia.com)
