2 Policemen, 2 Civilians Killed In Terror Attack In J&K’s Sopore

Two policemen and two civilians were killed during a terrorist attack in Sopore town of north Kashmir this afternoon. Three policemen were also injured in the attack, the police said.

Officials sources said the policemen were part of a patrol party that was on routine security duty. The unit came under attack at main Chowk in Sopore town, they said.

Two policemen and two civilians were killed on the spot. The injured including three policemen have been shifted to hospital.

“Two policemen and two civilians were killed in the attack. Three other policemen are injured,” said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of police.

Mr Kumar said he has reached the attack site and an operation has been launched to track down the attackers.

However, today, recognizing the sentiments of the people and ensuring that the number of seats in the South does not diminish, the Modi government has introduced a formula involving a 50% increase”, he noted. Further, Kishan Reddy alleged that from the very beginning, it has been a calculated conspiracy by the Majlis party to ensure that the women are denied any form of political reservation. Statements made by Majlis party leaders specifically Akbaruddin Owaisi suggesting that the entry of the women into politics would give rise to new complications and problems, are officially recorded in the Assembly records. Fearing that a delimitation of constituencies in Hyderabad could jeopardize their own seats, the Majlis party is now conspiring in tandem with both the Congress and the BRS parties . Having held consultations with these two parties, the Majlis party is actively campaigning against both the proposed delimitation and the provision of Women’s reservations”, he remarked. (PMI)
