Hyderabad, Oct. 10 (PMI): Telangana Congress leaders are making efforts to placate former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav following the announcement of Naveen Yadav as the party candidate for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election.
Anjan Kumar Yadav, a senior leader and aspirant for the Congress ticket, expressed his displeasure openly after being overlooked by the party high command. Reports suggest he had considered contesting independently, prompting senior leaders to intervene and resolve the matter.
According to sources, Anjan Kumar was deeply keen on contesting the by-election on a Congress ticket and had conducted multiple programs in the constituency to mobilize support. Citing his seniority and decades-long service to the party, he was confident of receiving the nomination.
However, with Naveen Yadav’s candidacy finalized, Anjan Kumar reportedly felt disappointed and upset. Unconfirmed reports suggest he was preparing to file his nomination in defiance of the party’s decision but said he would consult with his followers before announcing any course of action.
Party leaders are now working to ensure that Anjan Kumar Yadav remains aligned with the party to prevent any potential backlash that could affect Naveen Yadav’s electoral prospects.(pressmediaofindia.com)
